As most of you #Rammies surely already know, Chicago’s Board of Governors won the inaugural Terrapin Idol contest!
(In case you missed it, Terrapin Idol was where we gave #Rammies the chance to vote for the 6th band they want to see at the Terrapin 5K. Fans voted via Facebook and it came down to the 11th hour, but BOG came out on top!)
BOG member Trevor Hougardy is especially excited about joining the event, because he’s an endurance athlete himself. As he commented in our press release about the race “I personally am very excited about this race and concert because it combines the two main aspects of my life, music and athletics. Working as a triathlon coach with Trimonster and [TEAM TO END AIDS] allows me to be surrounded by great people that don’t always have the time to train and also stay up late to see live music … but in an environment where they can get a workout, and THEN grab a brew or two and relax and watch some good music … [it's] the best of both worlds!!”.
He was also very appreciative of all the support he received from #Rammies across the country “The support we received over the last few weeks to help us win this contest has been amazing!! Our friends, family and fans from all over the country really came through and spread the word about voting, and because it was such a close finish, every vote really did count! Props to Chester Brown for keeping this contest such a close call all the way to the end”.
In addition to BOG the Terrapin Music Festival lineup includes Truman & His Trophy, Elephant Gun, The Kickback, The Smoking Popes and, of course, Mr. Blotto!
